Priyanka Chopra won the Miss World 2000 pageant almost twenty years ago. On December 1 this year, the actress-singer took home something greater, something fancier—and we’re not precisely talking about Nick Jonas. We’ll give you a clue: it took 1,826 hours to create.
The bride got married in two different gowns, but the Ralph Lauren number that she wore for the Christian ceremony is the one that stole Anomalie’s hearts. The sheer gown featured a high-neck collar and daintily scalloped long sleeves, providing it with an elegance and sophistication that could only be surpassed by the intricate detail in its hand-beaded and hand-embroidered patterns.
With romantic buttons tracing the front of the dress, from the top of the neckline all the way down to the hem, along with floral and scroll motifs scattered in an organic gradient effect across the delicate tulle, we’re here wondering how one is supposed to part ways with such a gorgeous masterpiece. Beneath the outer gown, Priyanka wore a mother-of-pearl-sequined strapless column dress.
But our favorite feature about this dress is something that escapes the naked eye. Here at Anomalie, we are all for personalization and customization, and that is why we fell head over heels for the eight hidden messages Priyanka had embroidered on her dress:
- The name of her beau: Nicholas Jerry Jonas
- The wedding date: 1st of December 2018
- Her parents’ names: Madhu & Ashok
- A Hindi mantra invoking Lord Shiva: Om Namah Shivay
And the words…
- Family
- Hope
- Compassion
- Love
But wait, there’s more. Priyanka’s mother-in-law, Denise Jonas, also gained a special place in the dress, as a piece of her own lace wedding gown was hand-stitched into the embroidery. Lastly, the lovely bride topped off her look with a 75-feet-long tulle veil. Nothing less, nothing more—just perfection.
Because all good things must come to an end, that is as long as the list of details goes. But, in all honesty, could we really ask for more?
Well, you can…
As Priyanka said to Harper’s Bazaar: “When we went in for the sketch presentation, they created exactly what I envisioned for myself on my wedding day… and I said, ‘Yes’ to the dress”. We’ve heard equally joyous statements from our brides, and this is exactly what your experience can look like if you design your dress with Anomalie, the custom online wedding dress company. What are you waiting for? Say “Yes, to the custom dress!”
